In the Lava Tube Trail at the Mojave National Preserve is a beam of heavenly light, magnifying the tunnel underneath. Though the tube use to hold liquid hot magma, the space now provides beauty for those willing to crawl inside. The light illuminates the large cavernous tunnel, giving the impression of heaven on earth.
With this collapsed portion of the lava tube you can see that the rock all around is sharp and jagged, all being lit by this single beam of light. Creating essentially a flashlight the light then bounces off and illuminates the entire cave, all through this single beam. Without these holes this magnificent space wouldn't be known. And yet there are thousands of spaces just like this yet to be discovered.
This one space gives the appearance of heaven on earth, a jewel within the harsh lava landscape above. This single light source shows how powerful the sun can be in providing vision to everyone. Without this light, this space would not be what is seen in this photo. Without the cave-in the tunnel would not be what is seen below. Without everything coming together to become what it is now, we couldn't see what is pictured here.
